Heather Geronemus / Founder of Walk Like Madd 5k Fort Lauderdale
Heather Geronemus is
senior director of social equity, opportunity and impact at UKG, where she
drives the strategic direction of the company's global philanthropic
investments and initiatives focused on accelerating equity, opportunity and
impact worldwide. Heather has been with UKG (formerly Ultimate Software) for
over a decade, serving in various marketing, PR, and community relations
leadership roles. Heather is an accomplished nonprofit volunteer leader serving
organizations such as Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), the National
Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, American Heart
Association, The Sheriff's Foundation of Broward County and many more.
Heather founded Walk Like MADD & MADD Dash Fort Lauderdale 5K in 2011, after her late father, Dr. Robert Perry Geronemus, was struck and killed by a drunk driver in 2009. Heather is the immediate past chairwoman of MADD's National Board of Directors, and a member of the board of directors for the Center for Disaster Philanthropy. Her work to end drunk driving has been profiled in People Magazine, the Sun Sentinel, and she has appeared on NBC, ABC and CBS. Heather is a sought-after speaker on a variety of leadership topics and is a graduate of New York University.
