Becoming an Entrepreneur by Buying a Business

Curt Maier is a seasoned business development executive with four decades of experience in business. He currently is a M&A Advisor, business broker and franchise consultant and holds the position of Vice President of Business Development at IBA, the oldest M&A/Business Brokerage firm in the Pacific Northwest serving the lower range of the middle market.

Curt has an engineering degree from the University of Notre Dame and obtained his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix and completed an Executive Financial Analysis course at the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago. He holds a Mergers & Acquisitions Advisor certification and has a Certified Franchise Broker designation. He served his country honorably as a Nuclear Submarine Officer aboard a Fleet Ballistic Missile Submarine in the US Pacific Fleet during the Cold War.

Prior to joining IBA, Curt held increasingly responsible positions through general management with FORTUNE 300 Air Products & Chemicals, Inc. He led successful mergers and acquisitions, which resulted in significant growth and value creation for the company. Following his career with Air Products, Curt owned and operated several companies in multiple industries which he sold after creating significant value.

Curt is widely recognized for his industry knowledge and thought leadership. He has been invited to speak at numerous conferences and events, where he shares his insights on the latest trends and innovations. Outside of work, Curt enjoys spending time with his family and traveling to new destinations and is an avid golfer.
