The team behind Kimball House and Watchman’s is working on a new barbecue venture.

An Instagram account for a project called Gene’s went live Wednesday. The account’s bio links to the Kimball House and Watchman’s Instagram accounts, as well as that of Avery Cottrell, a former Kimball House line cook.

“Smoked vegetables, brisket, pork and birds. Other fixin’s too,” the account’s bio reads.

Marcell Ozuna signing pushes Atlanta Braves payroll to $150 million

The Atlanta Braves were in need of a cleanup hitter after free agent third baseman Josh Donaldson signed a $92 million deal with the Minnesota Twins last week.

Instead of dealing prospects to fill the void, Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos found a solution via free agency.

The Braves signed outfielder Marcell Ozuna to a one-year, $18 million deal on Tuesday.

Amazon.com will open a new distribution center in Newnan, Ga., south of Atlanta, and create 500 jobs, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp announced Saturday.

Amazon will lease a more than 1-million-square-foot facility at The Cubes at Bridgeport in Coweta County. The company considered multiple locations before settling on the site in Newnan, according to the announcement.
