Elisa Gaudet / Founder of Women’s Golf Day & President of Executive Golf International
Elisa A. Gaudet has 19 years of golf industry experience in the U.S., Europe and Latin America including executing the 2002 EMC World Cup for the PGA TOUR. She also headed up sponsorship, marketing and PR for the Tour de las Americas (Latin PGA Tour). Experienced in TV rights negotiations, sponsorship procurement and activation, marketing, player relations benchmarking studies and large-scale destination marketing, including a benchmark study and strategy for the government of the Dominican Republic specifically related to golf as a tool to drive investment revenue and development. Founded Executive Golf International, a strategy driven golf marketing firm that was responsible for creating Women’s Golf Day among many other notable projects and clients. Elisa created the strategic blueprint for an International Women’s Golf Day started in 2016 and held on the same day ( first Tuesday in June) everywhere around the world. To date over 900 locations in 52 countries have participated engaging thousands of women worldwide through the game of golf thus creating a global movement. In a historically male dominated sport, International Women’s Golf Day transcends language, culture, religion, politics and age. The ability to mobilize and scale very rapidly, 68% growth in year two, has generated significant interest from the sports and business industry. WGD’s primary hashtag #womensgolfday received over 47 million impressions to nearly 25 million activating the day of the event across Facebook, Twitter & Instagram alone. She is the author of the Two Good Rounds book series.
Prior to golf, Elisa worked in the entertainment industry for over ten years as a model and SAG and AFTRA actress. She has appeared on numerous radio and TV programs and has been a guest speaker on a variety of golf topics as well as hosting golf programming and segments on lifestyle, travel and the 19th hole. She has spoken at numerous sports and business conferences internationally including the International Sports Conference- Geneva, Asian Pacific golf Summit – India, European Golf Course Owners Association, Golf Inc and many corporate speaking engagements. She is an award winning writer and her syndicated monthly column ran for 9 years and has appeared in Huffington Post, Cybergolf , New England Golf Monthly, Florida Golf Central, Visit Miami Book, Alaska Inflight magazine, Golfers Guide, Stratosphere private jet magazine. In 2011 the first book in the Two Good Rounds series was published (Skyhorse Publishing) : Two Good Rounds – 19th Hole Stories from the World’s Greatest Golfers based on interviews with 36 of the top golfers in the world discussing fun, feel good memories on and off the golf course. Elisa is a graduate of George Mason University and has additionally studied at Stanford University, University of Valencia, Spain, Imperial College of London and University of Paris Sorbonne. She has traveled extensively and has lived in London, Paris, Geneva, Tokyo, Cape Town, San Francisco, Washington D.C, Los Angeles, Mexico, Barcelona, and Miami and now splits her time between New York City and West Palm Beach, Florida.
James Sapirstein / CEO of AzurRxBioPharma & TAB Owner
James Sapirstein has served over thirty five years in the pharmaceutical industry. He is currently the President and CEO of AzurRx BioPharma (AZRX:NASDAQ). He has been part of almost two dozen drug product launches and specifically either led or has beena key member of several HIV product launches into different new classes of therapeutics at the time.
He began his career in 1984 with Eli Lilly in Sales, moving to Hoffmann-LaRoche in 1987, where he served for almost a decade as part of its commercial teams in the US and abroad, rising to become a Product Director. He joined Bristol Myers Squibb as the Director of International Marketing in the Infectious Diseasesgroup in 1996. While at BMS, he worked on several important HIV/AIDS projects including Secure the Future.
Mr. Sapirstein started his career in smaller biotech companies when he later joined Gilead Sciences, Inc. (GILD) in order to lead the Global Marketing team in its launch of Viread (tenofovir). In 2002, he accepted the position of Executive Vice President,Metabolic and Endocrinology,for Serono Laboratories. Later, in 2006, he became the founding CEO of Tobira Therapeutics, then a private company. Tobira Therapeutics was acquired by Allergan in 2016. In 2012, Mr. Sapirstein became the CEO of Alliqua Biomedical at Alliqua, Inc.Thereafter, he served as CEO of Contravir Pharmaceuticals from March 2014 until October 2018.All of these are publicly listed companies. Mr. Sapirstein has raised over $200 Million dollars in venture capital and public capital markets financing in his various engagements as CEO. He was named as a Finalist for Ernst&Young Entrepreneur of the Yearaward in 2015 as well as in 2016.
Mr. Sapirstein holds board positions on Marizyme (MRZM) (Executive Chairman) Enochian Biosciences (ENOB), and Leading Biosciences.He was Chairman of the Board for BioNJ, an association of biopharma industries in New Jersey from Feb 2017-Feb 2019. In addition, he is a Board Director for BIO, the leading Biopharma Industries Organization promoting public policy and networking in the healthcare space, where he sits on both the Health Section and Emerging Companies Section Governing Boards.
Mr. Sapirstein received an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1997, and a BS (Pharmacy) from Rutgers University in 1984.
