Ricardo Alexander Gómez is CEO of New Wave Endo-Surgery Inc based in Coconut Creek, FL. He was born in Mayaguez Puerto Rico but moved as a child to Amherst Massachusetts where he grew up working in a family restaurant. He began his career as a surgical tech in Broward General more than 20 years ago. He then attended Cornell Medical School, where he also served as president of his 2002-2006 class, University of Massachusetts and received and M.B.A from Florida International University. He is the inventor of D-HELP and founder of New Wave Surgical which was listed in INC magazine 2014 as one of America’s fastest growing private companies and the #1 fastest growing surgical device company. In 2014, DHELP was used worldwide in over 1 million surgeries. In 2014 Gómez sold New Wave Surgical to Covidien/Medtronic. He is now running a new company New Wave Endo and launching a new surgical device that will help reduce hernia complications after laparoscopic surgery as well as help reduce opioid consumption. He has over 15 patents issued and is a published author in research done at Columbia/Cornell New York Presbyterian Hospital that has helped improve outcomes for children with Craniosynostosis. He is the father of 3 girls and lives in Lighthouse point, Fl.
