John Kemp / Cannfind

Kemp is an American citizen who was born in Scotland and educated in South Africa. He has been in the computer industry for over 25 years and is an accomplished IT tech leader at the CEO level. He founded SKILLSOFT in 1995, and grew it to an organization generating in excess of $40 million within 4 years. He is currently the Founder and CEO of CANNFIND a crop wholesale trading and data analytics platform. Kemp founded of Compustaff, a global computer consulting firm, EntireCloud – a cloud hosting and managed services company, and The BRIC – an organization dedicated to fostering innovation and helping start-up companies accelerate their growth using funding and mentorship as well as bootstrapping techniques.

Kemp has successfully hired and managed over 600 people from various cultural backgrounds including Great Britain, Canada, South Africa, Australia, India, China and the USA. He has a thorough working knowledge and sound understanding of systems development cycles, from conception, to analysis and design, all the way through development and taking the finished product to market.

His experience includes starting out as a Programmer and working his way up to Systems Analysis, which has given him a hands on understanding of the issues, and resolutions that crop up in the course of a systems life cycle.  His business acumen enhances his ability to oversee results by ensuring that a clear set of deliverables are defined with accountability assigned to each task.

His most valuable attribute lies in a solid understanding of how to run, scale, and negotiate deals within the tech business community at the CEO level.
