The Georgia Department of Transportation is turning again to the construction contractor that built the replacement for the collapsed Interstate 85 bridge over Piedmont Road.
The DOT has tentatively selected the team of Marietta, Ga.-based C.W. Matthews Contracting Co./Michael Baker International to design and build a new bridge over Courtland Street in downtown Atlanta. The agency expects to confirm the $21 million contract early next month after making sure the winning bid meets compliance requirements.
