As Founder and CEO of Fielding’s Culinary Group, Cary Attar took on a huge challenge with his first concept, Fielding’s Wood Grill, opening a non-chain, unique, from-scratch restaurant in the heart of The Woodlands, Texas, whose dining scene is primarily defined by chains. Fielding’s Wood Grill is a sophisticated burger concept that has found huge success by doing everything in house: Grinding meat twice a day, baking buns in on-site bakery, curing bacon, churning shakes from scratch and using as much of as local, natural, hormone and antibiotic free product as possible. On those principles and together with co-partner and co-founder Culinary Director Chef Edelberto Goncalves, he launched his second concept in August 2015, Fielding’s Local Kitchen & Bar, located in Creekside Park Village Center on Kuykendahl Road, in The Woodlands. The menu includes house cut dry-aged steaks, handmade artisan pasta, house-cured charcuterie, open flame pizza, and re-invented desserts plus a wide selection of craft beers and cocktails along with a 130-bottle wine selection and 200 spirits.


Before Fielding’s, Cary developed and operated the award winning and highly successful Hubbell & Hudson Management Company. Cary led Hubbell & Hudson Market and Bistro, Hubbell & Hudson Kitchen and Black Walnut Café. Previous to this experience Cary was the General Manager of Houston’s Central Market. Prior to holding this position, he served as the co-founding Chief of Operations, and then as the President and CEO of Fox & Obel Food Market, a world class, award winning, internationally recognized concept. Cary has also served as the General Manager of Dean & Deluca in New York City and in Leawood, Kansas, and of several concepts owned by Brinker International. A graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration and The Culinary Institute of America, Cary has over 30 years of high-level experience in the restaurant and food service sector.
