Kyma reopening with new sister concept in Buckhead

An iconic Buckhead restaurant is getting a new side project.

Ouzo Bar & Dining Room will replace the Octopus Lounge inside Kyma, the Buckhead Like Restaurant Group establishment that sits at 3085 Piedmont Rd. NE. The new venture takes up the right side of the Kyma space.

Kyma has been closed since March amid the novel coronavirus pandemic. Kyma and Ouzo both open for dine-in service Friday, July 26.

Piedmont Healthcare to pay $16 million to resolve federal allegations

Piedmont Healthcare will pay $16 million to settle allegations that it overcharged federal health-care programs, the U.S. Department of Justice said Thursday.

The feds claim Piedmont, one of Atlanta’s largest health systems, violated the False Claims Act by billing Medicare and Medicaid for procedures at the more expensive inpatient level of care instead of the less costly outpatient or observation level of care.

Monday Night Brewing has new opening schedule for first taproom outside Atlanta

Monday Night Brewing has a new opening month planned for its first taproom outside Georgia.

Atlanta-based Monday Night Brewing had been slated to open in April at the Parkside District’s Denham Building in Birmingham, Ala., but the pandemic delayed plans. It is now gearing up for an August opening.

The brewery’s alcohol licensed was approved by the Birmingham City Council on June 23.
