MSouth adds another Atlanta company to its portfolio

Atlanta-based private equity firm MSouth Equity Partners added another Georgia company to its portfolio. 

MSouth said it bought a majority share of Nth Degree, an Atlanta-based tradeshow and event marketing company from Gladstone Investment Corp. (Nasdaq: GAIN) and Capitala Finance Corp., both of which retained minority equity in the company.

MSouth said the deal is also “in partnership with the company’s management team.” Financial details were not released.

Star Bar property owner close to agreement with new tenant

Little Five Points’ Star Community Bar could be back to business as usual before the end of the month.

Point Center Partners LLC has reached a verbal agreement with a new tenant for the space at 437 Moreland Ave. NE, managing member Scott Pendergrast told Atlanta Business Chronicle.

Pendergrast stressed no documents have been signed, but the agreement is to re-open Star Bar with the same name and business model. The new tenant would retain employees and the same booking agent for talent. Monday…

Truist Financial Corp. and the Atlanta Braves plan to unveil the new name of SunTrust Park at a joint press conference on Tuesday. The announcement will come just a little over a month after SunTrust Banks Inc. and BB&T Corp. completed a $66 billion bank merger to create Truist.

Energy infrastructure firm closing Atlanta office along with Houston HQ move

Summit Midstream Partners LP (NYSE: SMLP) will move its corporate headquarters from The Woodlands to downtown Houston on March 1, according to a press release.

The company also is closing its Atlanta office, located at 2300 Windy Ridge Parkway, Suite 840N, in Atlanta. Summit’s finance and accounting functions currently are located in Atlanta, where the company was founded.

BIP Capital backs Atlanta cancer treatment planning software startup

OncoLens, an Atlanta-based cancer treatment planning software startup, has raised $2.5 million in a Pre-Series A round led by local VC firm BIP Capital. Previous investors Atlanta Technology Angels and the Robbins Fund also participated in the round.

Using software solutions, OncoLens helps cancer centers conduct cancer case reviews and achieve accreditations from several cancer fighting organizations. The company serves integrated delivery networks and hospitals across the country.
