Woodlands workforce housing merger gets go-ahead from shareholders

Los Angeles-based Platinum Eagle Acquisition Corp. (Nasdaq: EAGL) has gotten permission from its shareholders to close its upcoming merger with The Woodlands-based Target Logistics Management LLC, which goes by Target Lodging, and RL Signor Holdings LLC, which goes by Signor Lodging.

Houston LNG co. inks deal for 984 acres for South Texas export facility

Houston-based NextDecade Corp. (Nasdaq: NEXT) has secured land for a large-scale liquefied natural gas export terminal along the Port of Brownsville on the southern Texas coast. 

Rio Grande LNG LLC, a NextDecade subsidiary, entered into a lease agreement with the Brownsville Navigation District for a 984-acre parcel of land in Cameron County, according to a press release. The lease is for an initial 30-year term and includes two options for 10-year extensions.

More renovation plans for downtown Houston’s Allen Center revealed

New York-based Brookfield Properties (NYSE: BPY) is moving forward on another phase of renovations in downtown Houston.

Phase II of the company’s “Reimagining of Allen Center” project is expected to begin construction in April and be complete in late 2020, according to a March 5 press release. This phase includes renovating Two and Three Allen Center.

Gensler to move Houston office to downtown tower undergoing renovations

San Francisco-based Gensler is moving its Houston office for the first time in more than four decades. 

The architecture firm has been in Pennzoil Place for 46 years but will move to 2 Houston Center, at 909 Fannin St., in late 2019, according to a March 4 press release. Gensler is not disclosing the square footage of its current or future office at this time, a spokesperson said. All of Gensler’s 288 Houston employees will make the move.
