Walmart is shutting down at least three Sam’s Club stores in Washington state as part of a nationwide wave of closures.

Business Insider reports that Sam’s Club stores in Seattle, Renton and Auburn are among the 63 closing stores.

Costco Wholesale Corp. touted strong sales growth in stores and online through the busiest month of the year as brick-and-mortar retailers struggled to compete with e-commerce.

Costco reported more than $14.9 billion in sales for the five-week period that ended Dec. 31, up 14.3 percent from $13 billion in the prior-year period. December’s retail month had one extra day compared to 2016.

Boeing sets airplane delivery record, finishes 2017 with stuffed order book

Boeing said Tuesday it delivered more commercial airplanes than any other manufacturer in 2017 for the sixth consecutive year, delivering a record 763 aircraft thanks to higher 737 and 787 jet production.

Boeing had set a delivery target of 760 to 765 airplanes, so it met its 2017 goal, Boeing marketing vice president Randy Tinseth said.

The University of Washington is launching the UW Reality Lab with backing from Facebook Inc., Huawei and Alphabet Inc.’s Google.
