Lou Hofmeister is the owner and instructor of Kumon Math and Reading Tulsa – South located at 91st and Yale.  Kumon is a supplemental education program celebrating 60 years in 2018.  Kumon allows students to not only get to grade level, but work years above towards program completion. Lou was raised in Tulsa, graduating from Jenks High School in 2008.  He went on to study at the University of Oklahoma, graduating in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in energy management.

After graduation, Lou worked in the oil and gas industry for three years.  In 2015, he had the opportunity to take over the Kumon Math and Reading Center that had been in his family for 15 years.  Since Lou was a Kumon student growing up, and then later became an employee, he has an added advantage when working with students.  He understands the challenges students may experience and how to guide students to overcome those challenges and achieve their goals.

During his time with Kumon, Lou has worked with over 800 students and helped families reach educational goals.  Lou works with his wife, Britta Hofmeister, who owns Kumon Math and Reading Tulsa – Midtown located in Utica Square.  Together they have over 30 employees who range from high school and college students to current and retired educators.
