Scream is an industry celebrated DJ who has been sought out for collaborations by the likes of Gucci Mane, Rick Ross, Future and the Migos. He has also been recognized as a top DJ by MTV BET XXL, and many of the top chart makers in entertainment.
As a young child, DJ Scream was raised in a family that greatly valued education. Although he was a dedicated student, his discovery of music became a passion that consumed him. At the tender age of 12, he was intent on buying his first set of DJ equipment by saving up his lunch money instead of eating. His mother and father eventually caught on after eyeing his thinner frame and provided the rest of the funds needed to make the purchase. The sacrifice proved invaluable to Scream and he spent countless hours during his teenage years learning to perfect his craft.
DJ Scream continued his educational pursuits with a full scholarship to Tuskegee University where he quickly became widely sought after as a top local DJ. His time there however, tested his resolve in unexpected ways when he suffered the devastating loss of both of his parents within a very short period of time. Scream leaned on his faith and desire to honor his family’s legacy and pressed forward. Upon graduating, he was faced with the difficult choice to stay in Alabama or go back to Atlanta to continue his goal of realizing success in a larger market. Scream decided that the risk was worth the potential reward and returned to the city that first sparked his love of music.
His transition proved to be an uncertain one. He was grateful for the education he had received, but did not see a traditional post collegiate career as the right fit for him. After working odd jobs, he received a call that set him on the trajectory that became the foundation for all the success that followed. Scream was asked to tour with singer, Montell Jordan, where he traveled nationally as his official tour DJ. The experience taught him the ins and outs of the industry at a level he had not experienced prior and provided valuable lessons in professionalism and drive. Once the tour ended, the requests continued to pour in and he quickly found himself sought after as go-to mixtape curator, host, and notable personality. Mixtapes ranged from grassroots career-making campaigns for 2 Chainz and Plies to celebrated projects for Juicy J, Snoop Dogg, Soulja Boy, Gucci Mane, Young Jeezy, Migos, Future and many more. Scream was also hand selected by Rick Ross to be signed to the rapper/mogul’s Maybach Music Group.
