Roger Goertz / Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Montgomery
Roger Goertz lives in The Woodlands, TX, with his wife and business partner, Natalie Saikowski Goertz. In 2003, Roger purchased the Mr. Rooter® franchise, which services Montgomery, Harris and Fort Bend Counties. Roger has always believed that it is better to give than to receive. Therefore, he enjoys serving our community through various leadership positions, which include, but are not limited to, Rotary Club of Conroe (former Board Member and active member), The Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce (Board Member and active member), The Hispanic Chamber of Montgomery County (former Board Member), as well as Leadership Montgomery County (former Board Member and active Alumni).
Roger began his career in 1968 when he joined Pizza Inn, Inc. in the Dallas area. Through his determination and self motivation, Goertz quickly moved through the ranks serving as Manager Trainee, Store Manager, Area Supervisor, Regional Supervisor, District Director, Divisional VP of Ops, VP of Ops and VP of Marketing. In 1984, Roger left Pizza Inn to become the Chief Operating Officer of a pizza chain in Portland, OR where he expanded the operation into California, Arizona, Utah, Canada and Japan. In 1987, Roger was recruited as President of Check-X-Change, a check cashing franchise headquartered in Portland, OR that established itself as the “blue collar” location for cashing paychecks, insurance checks, etc. In 1993, the company he was President of and had earned 1/9th ownership in, was acquired by a larger yet similar franchise in Tampa, FL. The Purchaser required Roger to sign a 3-year minimum contract, where he was promoted to serve as President of three Corporations.
In 1996 after the Tampa company was acquired by a Dallas firm, Roger was recruited by The Dwyer Group, which is an “umbrella” company that owned six “home service” franchise companies. At this company, Roger served as President of Aire Serv Heating & Air Conditioning until 2003, when he decided to leave his corporate life in Waco, TX by purchasing the Mr. Rooter® franchise in 2003. Roger quickly identified the opportunity to expand the business where he grew it from a 4 service van company to more than 18 company service vans today.
Roger’s business and life Mantra is “Whatever I Achieve Today, I WILL EXCEED It Tomorrow!”.
