As tensions mount between the U.S. and China over tariffs, Georgia could feel the fallout of an all out trade war. President Donald Trump has threatened another $200 billion in tariffs on Chinese imports. This would be on top of the $50 billion tariffs already announced.
China ranks first among Georgia’s importer nations. In 2017, the state’s imports from China totaled $22.2 billion. That was 20 percent more than in 2016, according to the Georgia Department of Economic Development.
