The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Georgia hit $2.51 Friday, the highest since July 2015, as supply shortages in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey drove up pump prices across much of the country.

Since the hurricane came ashore in Texas one week ago, gas prices in Georgia have increased by 28 cents a gallon.

Motorists should expect fuel prices to go up another 10 cents to 20 cents a gallon in the short term due to a combination of refinery and pipeline shutdowns, tightened…
