More contract details have emerged as the University of Houston’s new football coach and defensive coordinator’s salaries go before the board of regents for approval Feb. 23.

If head coach Major Applewhite were to leave, he’d owe whatever contract money is left for his assistant coaches, the Houston Chronicle reports. That’s on top of the previously reported buyout terms, which included Applewhite paying whatever remained of his salary — a figure that jumps 50 percent if he springs to any school…
