Olivia Gaudree / Core Analyst and Partner, Fuel Venture Captial

Maggie Vo, CFA®, is a finance expert with more than a decade's experience in the public markets, analyzing and managing investments across a wide spectrum of asset classes, both traditional and alternative.

Born in Vietnam, Maggie began her career in finance at Prudential Vietnam Fund Management and, later, Prudential Property Investment Managers in Singapore, gradually cultivating a rich network across Asia. She focused specifically on private equity real estate, in addition to driving efforts around fundraising, deal prospecting, valuation, and due diligence for the fund.

In the U.S., Maggie then accepted the position of Portfolio Manager at Blue Shores Capital, where she managed the boutique hedge fund's flagship Global Long Short Equity strategy. She was responsible for the development of proprietary models and oversight of the fund's risk-management process, a duty that has fundamentally informed Fuel Venture Capital's proprietary downside risk-mitigation investment theory.

Maggie's transition from the public markets to the world of venture capital was spurred by the realization that value is continually shifting to actors in early-stage private-market deals. As General Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Fuel Venture Capital, Maggie spearheads due diligence processes that determine prospective investments and capital deployment and steers valuation analyses of existing portfolio companies. Perhaps most importantly, Maggie acts as an instrumental source of guidance for the executives of Fuel Venture Capital portfolio companies as they troubleshoot through the challenges of entrepreneurship in the fast-paced, high-stakes technology sector - from recruiting and sales strategies, to company culture building and corporate governance measures. Today, Fuel is a VC firm with $400 million assets under management and has a portfolio of 32 companies, including Soundtrack Your Brand, Curve and Taxfyle.

Maggie is also the Chief Investment Officer of Maquia Capital Acquisition Corp. (NASDAQ: MAQC). With headquarters in Miami and Latin America, Maquia Capital Acquisition Corp is a $175 million special purpose acquisition corporation targeting tech-focused middle market and emerging growth businesses in North America.

Recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the CFA Society of South Florida, Maggie holds a B.S. in Financial Economics and Mathematics from Centre College. She is fluent in Vietnamese. Maggie sits on the Board of Directors of Bolt Mobility, Eyrus, Soundtrack Your Brand and Ubicquia and is a strong proponent of mentoring and supporting other women breaking into the industry. Maggie has appeared on Bloomberg Television and has been named Brickell Magazine's top 20 professionals under 40 and recognized as an Influential Business Women by South Florida Business Journal and The South Florida Business & Wealth in addition to receiving Miami Dade County's Among the Company of Women award.

Olivia Gaudree is Fuel Venture Capital's core analyst and newest partner, providing operational and analytical support to General Partners, Limited Partners and portfolio companies. As the youngest partner at age 26, she is responsible for guiding prospective founders through essential stages of the comprehensive due diligence process and toward possible admission to the fund.

Olivia is responsible for assessing and analyzing investment opportunities that flow through the deal screening process, assisting in the detailed analysis conducted on prospective companies. Additionally, she oversees the growth metrics of Fuel Venture Capital investments and allocations.
Born into an entrepreneurial family, with her father having started several businesses himself, she always had an interest in self-starter types who went on to dream up big ideas and realize them. Throughout her childhood, she knew that she wanted to do something in business and set her career path in that realm from a young age.

Before joining Fuel Venture Capital in 2018, Olivia interned at Thomson Reuters's New York City office in the firm's Financial and Risk Division. She also worked at boutique hedge fund Blue Shores Capital as an equity Research intern, performing directed equity research projects. That environment, along with her prior internships, helped to guide her toward venture capital, where today she excels as the youngest partner. She was recognized as one of the Top Innovators Under 25 by the South Florida Business Journal. Olivia graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor of science in finance.
