Before the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Marietta Street downtown was not the hospitality hub it is today.
“It was rough,” said David Marvin, President of Legacy Ventures during an interview on the BIZ show. “There were a lot of vacant buildings. It was a bit of a dangerous area. People who stayed at hotels on the Peachtree ridge that needed to find their way to the Georgia World Congress Center were hesitant to walk.”
