Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms said Monday that the city will invest an extra $10 million toward compensation for patrolling police and senior police officers by January 2019.
Bottoms called the comprehensive plan to raise compensation “unprecedented,” and that by July 2019 the City will bring patrolling police and senior police officers to the competitive benchmark identified within the Mercer compensation study, which created base pay recommendations for APD’s police ranks.
