Secretary of State Brian Kemp has closed the gap on Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle in their battle for the Republican gubernatorial nomination in Georgia, a new poll shows.
The survey, released Friday by Montgomery, Ala.-based polling and research firm Cygnal, has Cagle with 44 percent of the vote and Kemp with 43 percent. That’s well within the poll’s margin of error of plus-or-minus 3.44 percent.
