New York-based investment firm KKR & Co. LP (NYSE: KKR) closed on its purchase of Houston-based BMC Software Inc. Oct. 2, according to a press release.

The sellers were a private investor group led by Bain Capital Private Equity and Golden Gate Capital as well as GIC, Insight Venture Partners and Elliott Management. Financial terms were not disclosed.
