Seattle Episode 77 - Megan Kranenburg - Chrysalis Physical Therapy

Megan Kranenburg / Chrysalis Physical Therapy

Megan Kranenburg holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering from The University of Portland, a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Eastern Washington University, and is the only nationally board-certified Clinical Specialist in Pelvic Health Physical Therapy serving the greater Kitsap region. She is a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, serving as an engineering officer stateside, overseas and in the combat theater. Her military and engineering background have proven to be fantastic building blocks for the kind of problem-solving inherent to the field of Physical Therapy.

In her spare time, she can be found reading, bingeing British shows on TV, trying to stay active, and keeping up with two kids. She’s been married to Dan since August 2000, and together they own and manage Crane’s Castle Brewing in East Bremerton. In addition to her Physical Therapy practice, Megan is an active Doula and is doing her part to improve perinatal care by teaching monthly “Labor Skills” workshops for expecting couples. She is also passionate about grass-roots efforts to improve public awareness of pelvic health conditions (and how treatable they are!) by guest speaking as often as she can with various groups, from public health nurses to MOPS International.

Owner and Pelvic Health Clinical Specialist Dr. Megan Kranenburg started Chrysalis Physical Therapy out of her desire to provide pelvic health Physical Therapy services in a welcoming, non-clinical environment while at the same time having autonomy over her schedule to attend births as a Doula, and make house calls to new parents in their first four weeks postpartum. Dr. Kranenburg used to work happily in a hospital-based outpatient clinic, but the day came when she knew she wanted to try being more available to clients in ways that the corporate healthcare world just wouldn’t accommodate. In September of 2016, Chrysalis opened its doors in Poulsbo. This past July, Megan and her husband renovated part of their home in the Brownsville neighborhood of Kitsap in order to move the clinic directly on to her property.
