With the 2018 Winter Olympic Games kicking off in Pyeongchang, South Korea, some managers will find themselves competing for staffers’ attention.

More than half – 56 percent – of employees say they plan to watch this year’s Olympics, with 7 percent admitting they’ll be watching secretly at work, according to a report from marketing insight firm Office Pulse. Employees preoccupied by the Winter Games during work hours will cost companies $1.7 billion in lost productivity, Office Pulse says.
